Merchants National Bank is committed to giving back to our communities by supporting organizations that enhance the quality of life in the markets we serve. Because the requests for donations are so great, guidelines have been implemented in order to assist as many organizations as possible. If you are interested in seeking a donation, please review the following guidelines before submitting your request.
Monetary donations and sponsorship requests will only be considered if you are a 501c (3) or 501c (6) non-profit organization. The contribution must be used to raise funds for the benefit of at least one of the following purposes:
- Community service
- Community/economic development
- Youth Activities
All requests for funds must be made with a completed application that includes a brief description of the organization and the purpose of the funds requested. A copy of your IRS letter recognizing your exempt status must be included. All requests must be received at least three weeks before your event.
Priority will be given to those with an established relationship with the bank and to those organizations that foster growth and development within the communities we support. The granting or denial of all such requests is solely within the discretion of Merchants National Bank.
Merchants National Bank will not consider donation requests for the following:
- Religious groups (unless they meet significant criteria above)
- Political parties, candidates or causes
- Incomplete applications
- Requests with less than proper notification
- Organizations without a non-profit status
Non-monetary donations may be requested for events to raise funds for individuals, such as raffle and auction items, and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A donation request form must be completed.
All organizations will be contacted regardless of approval or denial of your request. A decision to deny a request does not imply that the applicant’s program is not needed or worthy, but simply that it does not fall within our giving guidelines, priorities, or that funds are not available.
Thank you for your interest!
